A real smash and grab performance from the Bec.
The game started with the Bec under the Kosh...seriously under the kosh. But the opposition were very goal shy! They had plenty of chances to be up by maybe 3 or 4. But the defence will argue they were never clear cut chances. Tooting weathered the storm and calmed the game down midway through the first half. The score was 0-0 and the Tooting breathed a sigh of relief. It was quite clear that events before the game had affected the mental state of the Bec players.

However the second half was different, ''game of two halves aye.'' Tooting battled and eventually got rewarded as Bowers struck a free kick into the opposition box which caused havoc, as the defenders dithered Korah swivelled and found the back of the net. The opposition was stunned and Tooting were jubilant.
Merrow were charged and started becoming vocal, the best chance they created produced a great save from Anderson. With pressure being applied the Bec tried to catch them on the counter attack. The Bec defence stood firm, at times desperate, which can be described as ''old school.''
Again a Bower's set piece produced a goal, the ball whipped in from the left and 'LouiG' applied a right boot to it, to change the direction of the ball into the back of the net. Great attitude and performance.
The game ebbed and flowed but it was clear Merrow had nothing more to offer as the Bec defence went old school again.
The ref threatened to add time on but it was clear that the Bec had got their first three points of the season.
