Tooting travelled to the home of Camberley Town to take on a Bagshot team struggling towards the bottom of the table. Bec made 3 changes from last week’s victory with Field, Lewis and Fox coming into the line-up.

Starting the game kicking down the slope the visitors struggled to get going early on. Bagshot were happy to stick men behind the ball and play on the counter attack and the tactic almost worked on two separate occasions, firstly Fernando with a last ditch tackle just before the no.9 could get a shot away when through on goal and then an even better chance when Machacek was forced into an excellent save when the home side attacker was clean through in goal. Bec did get better as the half went on and shortly after Blenkinsopp struck wide, Heravi was brought down in the box by a needless sliding tackle for a penalty. M’Bango’s effort was saved but Jack Martin was there to bundle in the rebound.

Bec knew they’d need to improve in the second period to maintain their lead but started the half sluggishly as Bagshot started to chase an equaliser. They were rewarded on 65 minutes when their left winger squirmed a cross into the box that wasn’t cleared and the ball finally fell to a home attacker to tuck home. As the rain continued to fall a real battle of attrition continued as both sides fought for the crucial 3rd goal. Bec went close when Fernando’s left wing cross was agonisingly out of M’Bango’s reach at the far post, but shortly after the home side did take the lead when their striker showed good composure to wrong foot Thurbon and finish past Machacek from 15 yards. The Bec battled for an equaliser but never created an opportunity to test the home stopper and it was Bagshot who held out for a deserved victory.
