
With previous gaffer Matt Hancock taking charge of 1st team affairs just before the latest lockdown we are delighted to announce Tom Best as the new manager of FC Tooting Bec(aka our Reserves). We first met Tom when came to pre season 2 years ago as a keeper and managed to break his wrist in the first session! Prior and after that wrist break he has been coaching and managing within men’s football.
Tom is 25 and work’s as a secondary school teacher with qualifications to be able to teach both PE and Maths. He completed a degree in Sports, Fitness and Coaching, at Chichester University.

Goalkeeper Coach/Coach at Petersfield Town F.C. First Team (Southern League)
Assistant Manager/Head Coach at Fleetlands F.C. First Team (Hampshire Premier)
Head Coach at Bosham F.C. Reserves (Wyvern)

Manager of Havant District Representatives (various ages)

Took on his first coaching role at grassroots level at 15 and has then continued with this since, leading to taking on some of the above roles. worked across a variety of different men’s leagues, Southern, Wessex, Wyvern and Hampshire Premier down Portsmouth way where he is originally from. He also spent a number of years in School Boy representative football, working with some of the elite young players.
Tom is due to take his first session on the 31st of March before a packed fixture list as the SSEC resumes to conclusion and the challenge of promotion to Step 7 is the target.
Tom has a couple of young coaches coming in to support him and he will also be hands on himself. Everyone at the club are looking forward to working with Tom, Louis & Mal.
